In short, this article talks about how blocking any stimulations from your senses creates hallucinations. Because, as the researchers think, *with* the confirmation given by your senses that what you are thinking you're seeing is the truth, your brain will accept your visions as 'right'.

Without this confirmation your brain might loose it's possibility to decide wether, whatever you think or feel, is right or wrong. In no less than 15 minutes of 'senseless' living hallucinations started appearing. Quite similar to recreational drugs, that might just do exactly the same. (well, yes, they do, right? troubling your vision, slowing you down, blurring everything..) That's some shocking facts! Really I don't do the article any justice so it's best to read it again too.

There once was an interview with Thom Yorke, where he said that he had this busy touring schedule, and was robbed from all sleep for almost a week, and he started seeing all kinds of hallucinations too. This made writing lyrics much easier, as strange fantasies came quite visibly before his inner eye.

Altough losing touch with reality sounds rather dangerous (maybe that's why Thom Yorke is worried about creating another album?), it seems to open up to some crazy creativity. Which is kinda useful too right?
